Through deep sleep, people enter a collective unconscious realm called the Abyssal Dream, where they kill nightmares and gain mental power, awakening extraordinary abilities in reality such as mind reading, telekinesis, and elemental control. Society is built entirely around dream exploration.
· The truth about the world, a ticking time bomb: The so-called Abyssal Dream is actually the dream of an ineffable Ultimate Ancient God somewhere in the universe. The power on which all humanity depends for survival comes from stealing fragments of the ancient god's thoughts in its dream. If the ancient god wakes, the dream will collapse, and the real world will be annihilated with it, because reality itself is only a projection of the dream.
