KR World: Liaoshen Remake

Zhang Yanzhi is reborn with memories of his past life into a turbulent era, when China is weak and Northern Liao is beset by troubles at home and abroad. Though Northern Liao has the beginnings of a heavy industry, it is plagued by internal divisions and coveted by Japan. Appointed in a moment of crisis, he quickly unites its scattered forces. With extraordinary intelligence, he quells internal rebellions and strikes fear into opportunists, steadily consolidating his grip on power.

Knowing that restoring the nation requires a strong army, Zhang Yanzhi withstands doubts and resistance from every side and pushes ahead with plans to establish the Northern Liao Army Officer Academy, overruling all objections. He personally selects its cadets and sets its curriculum, breaking down old barriers and bringing together patriots from across China. In the first ten chapters, he deals with obstruction from internal opponents and repels Japan’s initial probes while pressing ahead with the academy’s construction. He lays out a long-term strategy of “building industry before building a strong army,” planting the seeds for future industrial development and freedom from Japanese control. Step by step, he reveals himself as a decisive leader who can command the whole field, laying the first stones on the road to national restoration.
