The Harem Laughs at My Foolishness, but I Take a New Male Favorite Every Night

[Transmigration + Palace Intrigue + Power Plays + Strong Female Lead + Satisfying Read + Comeback + Subverted Tropes]

My name is Li Yixue, and I’ve been trapped in this terrible book for three years.

Of all the characters I could have become, I had to be the useless, cannon-fodder ex-empress: the emperor deposed her three times, the imperial consort killed her entire family, and she ultimately died miserably in the Cold Palace.

The three thousand beauties of the imperial harem all think I’m stupid and insane.

They don’t know that I spend each night with a different male favorite and live like a goddess.

The imperial consort sends me poisoned wine? I send her straight to the King of Hell.

Consort Shu schemes to frame me? I have her whole family executed.

The emperor wants to depose me? Sorry, Your Majesty, I now command the armies of seven kingdoms and the world’s largest bank. Even the neighboring kingdom’s crown prince is on my side.

The entire court kneels and begs me to rule from behind the curtain.

I smile. “I only want to live in peace and dote on my male favorites.”

One of my male favorites drapes the imperial robe over my shoulders. “Your Majesty, it’s time for court.”

Me: “???”
