Back on the Day of Confiscation, I Returned the Marquis to My Legitimate Sister

When the family was being confiscated, my stepmother threw my elder half-sister’s cloak over me so she could escape. My sister got away, while my stepmother and I were thrown into prison. But then Pei Yan, the young marquis betrothed to my sister since childhood, returned from the battlefield. Mistaking me for her, he used his military merits to secure my release. I went along with the mistake and married into the marquis’s household in grand style. Pei Yan cherished me like a precious jewel. That was until ten years later, when my sister arrived at the marquis’s residence in rags and declared that she was Pei Yan’s true fiancée. Resenting me for taking her place, Pei Yan threw me into an ice cellar in the dead of winter, making me atone for my sister. When I opened my eyes again, I was back on the day our family was arrested. Looking at the cloak my stepmother held out to me, I wrenched myself free of her grip. “The young marquis has always kept his word. He’ll surely save my sister, so Mother would be wise not to try any clever tricks.”
