The zombie tide on land had only just been beaten back when a strange signal came from the distant sea:
“This is the Eden Society’s Second Experimental Zone. Requesting connection.”
Only then did Lin Yan realize that the so-called source of the virus had never been confined to the land. The true darkness lurked beneath the sea.
The Abyssal Virus began contaminating the water supply. Infected people developed fish scales and aquatic traits, rendering traditional walls completely useless. Having lost full access to the System, Lin Yan could only start over at an abandoned harbor, using scrap ships, steel cables, old engines, and handmade military technology to build humanity’s first mobile fortress at sea.
As the sea of undead crawled from beneath the waves and the deep-sea mother organism awoke in the rift, Lin Yan had to prove that craftsmanship could do more than build defenses: it could also chart a course to a new civilization.
