Every hundred years, the Nine-Lives Black Cat grows another tail. Once it has all nine, it can ascend to immortality. A thousand years ago, the Nine-Lives Black Cat Mo Chen and his master, Hong Zhi, were saved by the ancestors of the Su family. To repay the Su family's kindness, Hong Zhi made a Heavenly Dao contract between Mo Chen and the family. Every hundred years, the Su family could make one wish of Mo Chen. He would sacrifice his newly grown ninth tail and use the power of the Heavenly Dao to fulfill their wish. Yet the only way Mo Chen could take human form and ascend to immortality was to have all nine tails. A thousand years passed in this endless cycle, until the appearance of Xu Zhaoyan, a descendant of the Su family. She offered her life as a sacrifice and wished for Mo Chen to have all nine tails. Burning through her very essence, she shattered the Heavenly Dao contract. Mo Chen ascended to the immortal realm. To save the dying Qin Zhaoyan, Mo Chen severed one of his tails of his own accord as he ascended, extending her life. Qin Zhaoyan lost all her memories. To settle the debt between them, Mo Chen asked his master Hong Zhi in the immortal realm to conceal his fate from the Heavenly Dao, then willingly returned to the mortal world to protect Qin Zhaoyan.
I'm really optimistic about the new theme. It should be about the mutual redemption of a cat and a girl. It should be better if it's made into a comic. I'm looking forward to the wishing ceremony in January. The author will update it soon. I'll take a blind guess and the person making the wish will definitely be the heroine.
