He's Off-Limits, but I Can't Help Falling for Him

Once, Wen Xia’s world held only one good man.

Her childhood sweetheart, who protected and saved her, and ultimately went to prison.

As the years turned, childhood friends became strangers, and their deep love could not withstand reality.

Later, her heart slowly came to rest with Xu Qingshu.

But Xu Qingshu was an elder who had watched her grow up.

He had loved her aunt for years, but could never have her.

He was a powerful senior official, trapped in a gilded cage, impeccably proper and fiercely restrained.

Society’s rules were hard to defy, and so was their difference in age and standing.

Neither of them should have fallen in love,

Yet he fell for her, and she lost herself in him.

Their mutual delusions made them both lose their bearings.

But fate had a quiet chain of cause and effect: the hardship and heartache of her first half of life all stemmed from a game he played unwittingly years ago.
