In 2026, a mysterious light curtain suddenly descended across the globe, drawing every person, animal, plant, mountain, river, and landscape on Earth into a fully immersive global online game called Earth Online.
There was no tutorial and no exit button. Everyone was forced to log in, and the real world fused completely with the game world.
Human bodies became game characters, and everyday actions were converted into game data. Eating, sleeping, working, and fighting all granted experience points. Mountains and rivers became game maps, cities became safe zones, monsters spawned in the wilderness, and ancient tombs, the deep sea, and the polar regions became high-difficulty dungeons. Animals and plants mutated into game monsters, and some even became intelligent bosses. The currency system was tied to in-game gold, with real-world wealth converted directly. Skills, equipment, and items became essential to survival.
Death was no longer the end. Those below level 10 could be revived at the nearest safe zone. Those above level 10 who died risked losing levels, skills, equipment, and even some of their memories. But once their level reached zero, their souls would be utterly destroyed, and they would truly die in the real world.
Overnight, Earth went from a civilized society to a game-world hell where the strong preyed on the weak and strength spoke for itself. Some rose to power in a single night, while others became mere ants. Human civilization was completely remade.
