The protagonist, Lin Chen, started out as an apprentice in an antique shop. He used his divine eye to pick out leaks, gamble on stones, and appraise treasures, accumulating huge wealth. He gradually solved the mystery of his father's disappearance (involving a lost ancient civilization), and eventually became a master in the world of treasure appraisal, exploring the unknown underground world.
