Seeds of Civilization: Starting with Fusion

After his fusion project was rejected for the third time, Lin Zhiyuan prepared to delete seven years of models.

But the abandoned screen suddenly lit up:

"Candidate for carrying civilization's torch confirmed. Countdown to the first catastrophe: 29 years."

Instead of turning to investors, he submitted his small-scale, controllable nuclear fusion technology to the state.

Thus began Project Torchlight, and humanity started kindling a sun of its own.

But they soon discovered that the more technology advanced, the brighter civilization shone in the depths of space.

Without progress, humanity couldn't withstand the catastrophe. Progress too quickly, and humanity would be spotted before its time.

Humanity had to light the flame, and it had to hide the light.
