A Step Beneath Her Skirt

Everyone thought Wu Xiangwan was the easiest person to push around, a sweet, sheltered girl who had never seen the world.

That is, until someone saw her with their own eyes:

Late at night, in a stairwell, she lit a cigarette.

Through the swirling smoke, the Fu family's heir knelt at her feet, looking up at her with eyes as red as a rabid dog's.

She merely glanced down at him and said gently, “Be good. Don't scuff my shoes.”

She had everyone dancing in the palm of her hand. To climb the social ladder, she treated them all like chess pieces.

Someone asked her, “What is it you really want?”

She toyed with the lighter in her hand, its flame illuminating her innocent-looking face.

“I want to rise above my station and become one of the elite! In this life, I'll be the one stepping on others. No one will step on me.”
