Full title: Thirty-Six Stratagems: Crossing the Sea in Plain Sight: Capital's Shadow Game and a Spy's Deep Love
Genre: Modern corporate power struggles, hard-hitting financial espionage, multiple tangled romances, deep-cover spies within spies, a long-form serious drama
Volumes: 100
Words per volume: At least 10,000
Core stratagem: Crossing the sea in plain sight: Conceal what is hidden within the obvious, not what stands in opposition to it. When preparations are complete, people grow complacent; what is familiar raises no suspicion.
The story in one sentence:
A capital-hunting game spanning ten years. A man who "legally died" in broad daylight returns to the eye of the storm under the most ordinary identity.
Everyone sees his "incompetence," but no one sees the vast web he has laid;
Everyone thinks they control the whole game, unaware they have long been pawns on his board;
He achieves the most astonishing comeback through the most ordinary daily life, and protects those he loves from the greatest dangers with the most restrained devotion.
I. The World's Overall Framework (Grounded and Hard-Hitting, with No Unconvincing Elements)
Setting
2024-2027: Global reshuffling in hard technology, a wave of mergers and restructurings in Hong Kong and mainland China's stock markets, covert battles between cross-border capital, competition among local industrial investment funds, patent predation, hostile takeovers, information warfare, financial short-selling, legal attacks, and the full-scale infiltration of corporate spies.
Key Battlegrounds
Listed company Huaxin Holdings: The only company in the country with foundational IP in third-generation semiconductors. Its ownership is fragmented, its cash flow strained, insiders are everywhere, major shareholders are at each other's throats, and foreign capital watches hungrily from the sidelines.
The hunters, Hengji Capital: A top-tier buyout fund led by Zhao Jingchen, notorious for "wiping out founders, stripping listed companies bare, and snapping up patents."
The mastermind: Shen Jinghan
