There was a pile of debris next to my work station. I put Nian Nian on the chair and took out my phone to call a taxi. Before the call was dialed, I heard Nian Nian playing with plasticine and mumbling: "Let daddy's inner thoughts come out and play... Come out and play..."
"Nian Nian, don't play around with things." I said casually and continued dialing.
"It's already out." Nian Nian's voice was filled with pride.
I turned around and saw her pressing a lump of plasticine onto my copy of the divorce agreement. I put that copy in the folder and didn't have time to throw it away.
Then I saw the lump of plasticine begin to deform.
It's not an ordinary deformation, it's the kind of twisting like a living thing. The plasticine bounced off the agreement, stretched and expanded rapidly in mid-air, and turned into a palm-sized villain, wearing a three-piece suit and bow tie.
I froze.
The bell was ringing and I forgot to answer it.
The little man stood on my table, with his two little hands, palms facing outward, waving his hands, as if he was warming up.
"Dad, look, he is so cute!" Niannian clapped her hands and laughed.
"This... Is this pinched by you?" My throat became tight.
"Yes, I found out dad's secret." Niannian said matter-of-factly, "The secret in dad's heart is a little man in a suit, and he really wants to talk."
The little man began to twist his body, as if trying to find a rhythm.
I subconsciously wanted to reach out and grab it, but as soon as my fingers touched the little man, it suddenly made a crisp snap of its fingers and then spoke.
