How Is the Commander a Jellyfish?

Yun Ji, the “Imperial Blade,” is the youngest commander in the Interstellar Alliance. With an iron fist and an undefeated record, he’s everything people think he is, at least on the surface.

No one knows that this legendary commander, who strikes terror into the insect race, is actually a painfully shy recluse who gets instantly flustered when approached. And no one knows that he’s half human, half jellyfish, taken in and modified by the Empire. He turns transparent when he’s in a good mood, becomes poisonous when he’s upset, and dissolves to make a getaway when pushed too far.

To steal vital intelligence from the insect race’s mother nest, Yun Ji infiltrates the Empire’s most dangerous black-tech auction, where he unexpectedly runs into Shen Yunfu, who’s on a secret mission. He’s the Empire’s heir apparent, a mecha god of war, and the “reckless crown prince” who has topped the interstellar wanted list for years.

Neither knows the other’s identity, and they fight over the same piece of intelligence. Yun Ji hopes to end things quickly, but his opponent grabs him by the wrist, forcing him to reveal his semi-transparent true form.

Shen Yunfu looks at the tiny, trembling, blue-glowing jellyfish in his palm and falls silent for three seconds. “...The mother-nest intelligence worth ten billion Imperial star credits is hidden in your head?”

Yun Ji smacks him with a tentacle. At the same time, an alert from an encrypted Imperial communications channel comes through: Commander Shen, Commander Yun Ji has gone missing.

Shen Yunfu looks down at the little jellyfish in his palm, his expression suddenly turning strange.
