One Thought to Judge Yin and Yang: Detective Di

Suspense and mystery + battle of wits + ancient investigations + constant twists + power struggles among the elite

Each volume is a separate case, so you can choose whichever cases you like.

At the height of the Tang dynasty, in the early years of Wu Zhou, anti-Wu forces stirred into action, dark currents churned through the court, powerful families formed cliques for private gain, and strange cases arose throughout the martial world.

In and around Luoyang, the divine capital, bizarre locked-room murders, serial killings, and wrongful convictions blamed on ghosts and spirits arose one after another. The people lived in fear, officials protected one another, and miscarriages of justice piled up with no hope of redress.

Di Renjie holds high office. Upright and incorruptible, he neither curries favor with the powerful nor believes in evil spirits.

He moves between court intrigues and crimes among the common people, solving strange cases, clearing wrongful convictions, discerning truth from lies, and distinguishing right from wrong.

With his own strength, he counters political conspiracies. Armed with peerless investigative insight, he pierces layer after layer of mist, sees through the wickedness of human nature, clears the world's injustices, and upholds justice and integrity throughout the Tang dynasty.
