The Sky Screen Reveals Fated Love, and the First Emperor Snatches His Beloved Wife Through It

A sky screen of destined love stretches across past and present, illuminating every dynasty.

Anyone who stands before it will see in its mirror the face of their destined true love.

The whole realm erupts.

Emperor Wu of Han sees Wei Zifu, Emperor Taizong of Tang sees Empress Zhangsun, and Zhao Kuangyin sees his childhood sweetheart. Even a poor scholar can glimpse the tofu seller's young widow next door in the mirror. The ancients line up to gossip, the court is sent into a flurry of embarrassment, and each public humiliation is more outrageous than the last.

Until Ying Zheng steps before the sky screen.

There are no noblewomen from the Six States in the mirror, no beauties of the Qin palace. There is only Su Wan, a young woman in a white shirt, holding a box of restoration tools and working overtime at a modern museum.

The Qin court falls silent, the die-hard loyalists of the Six States roar with laughter, and emperors from every dynasty gather to watch.

Su Wan wants to pretend she's dead, but the sky screen repeatedly exposes her past: restoring relics, putting jerks in their place, debunking rumors, and protecting history, all while making the First Emperor's heart surrender inch by inch.

Across two thousand years, he fixes his gaze on her. “How can my empress be living in the future?”
