My Wedding Was Crashed, and a Bandit Carried Me Back to His Stronghold

Shang Yuniang was about to be sent away to marry a foreign ruler. But she was pregnant with the Crown Prince Shang Jue’s child. When Shang Yuniang was little, she followed her mother into the palace. Her mother was greatly favored, and though Yuniang was not of royal blood, the emperor made her a princess out of affection for her mother. Precisely because she wasn’t truly royal, she was bullied mercilessly in the palace. The Crown Prince, Shang Jue, was a ray of light in her darkest days. He protected and cherished her, taught her to read and write and how to make a living, watching her grow from an innocent child into a poised young woman. They came to know and love each other. But their identities were the greatest obstacle between them. The empress saw her as a thorn in her side, an eyesore she wanted gone. After she was set up, Shang Yuniang woke to discover not only that she had lost a portion of her memories, but that she was pregnant. She and Shang Jue had planned for an assassination attempt on the journey to her political marriage, in which the princess would die. But fate had other plans. They ran into real bandits, and their leader, Xie Wujie, abducted Shang Yuniang and took her to their hideout. He stole her dowry, humiliated her in every way, and eventually used her to threaten Shang Jue in exchange for a thousand dan of grain. At long last, she escaped the bandits’ hideout and was finally able to marry Shang Jue. On her wedding day, the man who lifted her red bridal veil was none other than the bandit leader who was supposed to be dead. As the burly man strode toward her, Shang Yuniang trembled with fear. Bandit leader Xie Wujie was beside himself with rage. “Shang Yuniang, how dare you marry another man while carrying my child? I’ll break your legs!”
