Zero was awakened by a heartbeat. It wasn't his, yet it was exactly like his own.
He walked through a door that appeared out of thin air and arrived in Mirror City. A purple sky, a mirrored ground, and crooked buildings. Six people were already waiting for him in the city: a madman clutching a cat, a cold-faced woman who could read minds, an old man holding a thermos, an information broker sipping milk tea, a bricklayer with absurd strength, and an assassin who said, "I'm here to kill you."
This was an instance-based game. They were chosen players. But Zero soon realized that he hadn't been chosen. He had been summoned.
