Jade Embroidery, Frost in Flames

The Jiangnan Yunjin Manor is a renowned weaving clan in the martial world, famous for its peerless “Heavenly Craft Embroidery.” The young master, Ye Qingqiu, is the Ye family’s only son. Gentle and reserved, he uses his “Heavenly Dipper Finger” embroidery technique to craft golden-thread soft armor that can turn aside blades and swords and dispel internal force. Major sects are always clamoring to place orders.

His greatest ambition in life is to inherit the family business quietly and marry Liu Ruyan, the eldest daughter of the Shuiyue Sword Sect and his childhood sweetheart.

But on the eve of his father’s sixtieth birthday, everything changed.

First, someone tossed a fresh begonia petal onto the windowsill of his embroidery tower. There wasn’t a single begonia growing within ten li. Then Liu Ruyan arrived late at night, bringing a jade token her father had treasured for more than a decade. Four characters were carved into it: “Heavenly Crafts and Creations.” She also brought a message: “My father told me to tell you that your mother didn’t die of illness. She was murdered.”

Before Ye Qingqiu could even process this, a group of black-clad attackers with begonia flowers embroidered on their cuffs stormed the birthday banquet that night.

The Yunjin Manor was reduced to ashes overnight. Of its more than a hundred residents, Ye Qingqiu was the only survivor. Before his father died, he pressed into his hands a water- and fireproof scroll, the Embroidery Manual of Heavenly Crafts, and told him it contained a secret that could determine the fate of the martial world. The jade token left by his mother was the key to unlocking it.

The one who saved him was Liu Ruyan. The one who took a blade for him and nearly died was also Liu Ruyan.

From then on, Ye Qingqiu embarked on two paths: one of vengeance, to find the mastermind behind the slaughter of his family, and one of protection, to keep safe the few people he had left.
