Synopsis of the story of "The Bad Account"
During the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, there was a coffin shop at the entrance of Qingshi Lane, Baoding Prefecture. The shopkeeper, Liu Yiben, was an honest carpenter. One night, he rescued a mysterious man named Yin Qi, who claimed to be "Yin Cha", and he was involved in a series of bizarre murder cases: the bride suddenly died in front of the hall wearing a paper wedding dress, the puppets in the puppet theater were made from real human bones, the government official and the evil doctor died tragically one after another...
Liu Yi investigated the case barefoot and found that all the crimes pointed to a mysterious organization-"The Sect of the King of Medicine". In the name of selling "methods", they taught evil people the tricks to harm others, and then used Liu Yi's help to "collect the accounts" and silence them. With the participation of his apprentices Ma Xiaoyuan and Yin Si Ban Shan Liu Rushi, Liu Yi gradually uncovered a shocking conspiracy: Yaowang Valley used the "man-making technique" to create puppets, the ghosts in the Yin Yang Division colluded with human forces, and the man behind the scenes was actually the seemingly benevolent previous generation Ban Shan Su Yuan Shan.
The story combines folklore, suspense and human struggle, and explores the eternal propositions of justice and revenge, freedom and shackles under the setting of "account collection". Liu Yi went from "not making anyone else's sword" to "making his own sword", and finally overturned the chessboard and sought justice for all the wronged souls. The whole novel is full of bizarre folklore, and at the same time implies a cold insight into the world's human nature.
