The story begins with a carefully choreographed encounter. Su Wan, a top cultural relic restorer, accepts a "contract marriage" from the mysterious rich man Gu Yanci in order to treat his seriously ill mentor. Gu Yanci doted on her, but there was always an unspeakable distance between her. Su Wan gradually became addicted until she realized that her face resembled Gu Yanci's beloved who died young, and everything about her - encounters, preferences, and even her talent for restoring cultural relics - were all fakes that had been deliberately guided and reproduced. Heartbroken, she faked her death during a repair mission and fled to a foreign country. Five years later, Su Wan returned to China as an internationally renowned restoration expert with her cute baby. Now a new upstart in the cultural relics world, she met the powerful Gu Yanci on a narrow road. Gu Yanci discovered that she was not dead, and his paranoid love and anger at being deceived intertwined, and he began to pursue and intercept her at all costs. However, as the truth of that year was peeled away, Su Wan discovered that Gu Yanci's deeper trauma and unspeakable protection were hidden behind the "double", and the danger that had been lurking in the shadows also resurfaced due to her return. The two are repeatedly torn between love and hate, truth and lies, protection and injury. In the end, they must face external conspiracies and inner shackles together to complete a two-way redemption.
