2. Story summary
Winter 1941, Shanghai. Shen Shiyan, an underground member of the Communist Party of China, codenamed "Gu Zhou", is a mid-level intelligence agent lurking in the translation class of the Japanese military's special high school. During a mission to deliver the battle map of the Japanese "Sakura Project", the online "Lighthouse" was suddenly arrested and mutinied, and gave Shen Shiyan's code name. The organization was bloodbathed. Shen Shiyan escaped because he happened to be out, but became the only suspect - the organization believed that the "Lighthouse" rebellion was caused by his early exposure and that he was a traitor.
At the same time, Yamamoto Masao, the director of the Special High School, also suspected that there was a "mole" inside, and set a trap through the mouth of the "Lighthouse": he publicly declared that Shen Shiyan was a traitor to the CCP who had "submitted to the Empire of Japan," forcing him to have nowhere to escape but to surrender to the enemy. Shen Shiyan jumped into the Huangpu River to escape from a three-party ambush and was shot in the left shoulder. He was rescued by a dockworker Ah Si whose identity was a mystery. Ah Si claimed to be a peripheral member of the military system and was willing to help him "conquer his merits." Shen Shiyan didn't believe it, but he had no choice.
