Ah! It's Tough to Survive in the Late Ming

In the fourth month of the fourth year of the Chongzhen reign, chaos looms. Wang Jiayin roams Shanxi, stirring up unrest, while Cao Wenzhao pursues and corners him. The empire is falling into ruin.

The siblings Ye Ting and Ye Ning are accidentally transported to an age when people are roasted over fires. Corrupt officials whip the people like wolves, while Tartars and rebel bandits attack from behind with blades and axes. As tenant farmers, where can the two siblings go?

Should they grovel and be burned away like weeds, or fight against the will of heaven and turn back a world grown cruel and cold?

Born in a time of chaos, fighting in a time of chaos, dying in a time of chaos: we bring nothing into life and take nothing with us when we die, yet we ought to leave something behind on this land. Perhaps it will be pain, or perhaps new life. See what the two of them choose.
