2. Story summary
Three years ago, Lu Chen, a talented profiler from the Nancheng Criminal Investigation Detachment, gave a wrong profile in a kidnapping case, resulting in the hostage - his own sister Lu Yao - being raped. Lu Chen collapsed on the spot and was later diagnosed with "alexithymia" - he had never truly felt emotions, and all "empathy" in the past was just a logical simulation of high IQ.
Three years later, Lu Chen became a private detective, making a living by catching rapes and finding cats for others. Until a series of "perfect murders" occurred in Nancheng - each case was faked as an accident or suicide, the victims had no connection, and the techniques were perfect. The newly appointed captain of serious crimes, Shen Qianchen, was Lu Chen's partner back then. She resisted the pressure and asked Lu Chen to come out.
Lu Chen used pure logical deduction to break through the disguises of the cases one by one, only to find that the "perfection" of each case exactly corresponded to the "criminal methods paper" he wrote during the profiling training. What's even weirder is that all the victims received the same mysterious text message before they died: "You will become his perfect work."
