Modern doctor Shen Wanwan transmigrates into the past and becomes Shen Wantang, a female physician in ancient times. With her superb medical skills, she establishes herself in the capital. But after treating Prince Regent Xiao Yan, her breathtaking beauty unexpectedly captures the heart of this cold-faced lord who holds power over the entire court.
From then on, Xiao Yan turns into a relentless pursuer, summoning her again and again under the pretext of “taking her pulse” and “prescribing treatment.” He showers her with rare treasures and tries every trick in the book just to win her smile. Just as Shen Wanwan begins to grow accustomed to life in the past, the System suddenly issues its ultimate mission: refuse the regent’s marriage proposal, and she can return to the modern world.
Xiao Yan’s imperial decree proposing marriage arrives right on schedule. Shen Wanwan and her family dare not openly defy the emperor, so they can only pretend to accept while secretly making plans. With the wedding date drawing near, she disguises herself and escapes under cover of night. To her dismay, Xiao Yan flies into a thunderous rage and mobilizes the entire city to hunt her down. Caught and dragged back again and again, she makes one perilous escape after another, and the two of them play cat and mouse in a series of thrilling chases.
Watching the stubborn, sly little fox before him, Xiao Yan feels his desire to win her over grow ever stronger. Torn between the modern home she yearns for and the regent’s blazing, domineering devotion, what will Shen Wantang choose?
