Mountains and Rivers, Here I Come!

Some people who serve in the military wear the uniform only once in their lives.

Chen Shanhe wore it three times.

The first time was for his youth, the second for the tip of the spear. The third time, he only wanted to go home.

The glory of the special forces remains in his file, while the old wound in his left shoulder aches on every autumn night.

He stands once more on the parade ground of his old company, in the very spot where his squad leader made him stand at attention when he was eighteen,

like a wanderer returning from a distant journey, following the old road home one step at a time.
