Wuzhen Chaoha is a historical novel centered on a hereditary Han Bannermen cannon-making family during the Qing dynasty. The title comes from the Manchu phrase “užen cooha,” meaning “heavy troops,” the designation for the Han Bannermen artillery units in the early Qing dynasty.
