(It's normal for a new novel to have a low rating. It'll go up later.)

Fang Yu has lived for more than five thousand years and cultivated for just as long, yet his cultivation has remained stuck at the Qi Refining stage.
It's not that he hasn't tried hard enough. The Qi Refining stage normally has only twelve levels, but he forced his way all the way to level thirteen thousand. Every level represents a real accumulation of true qi, another attempt to break through the Heavenly Dao's bottleneck. Yet the door to Foundation Establishment seems as though it was never meant to open for him.
Living too long has its perks. He's seen more cultivation techniques than a library can hold, the powerful cultivators he once knew have long since ascended to immortality, and a casual look through old texts can turn up secret arts lost for thousands of years. Fang Yu has long since gotten used to keeping a low profile. He lives as an ordinary senior high school student in Jianghai City, rides a beat-up bicycle to and from school every day, helps his deskmate Tang Xiaorou with math, and occasionally draws on five thousand years of life experience to settle neighborhood disputes.
But every quiet life has to end eventually.
Cultivation stages: Qi Refining, Foundation Establishment, Golden Core, Nascent Soul, Void Refinement, Body Integration, Great Ascension, and Tribulation Transcendence.
At the peak of Tribulation Transcendence, a cultivator must undergo a lightning tribulation. Survive it, and they can ascend to immortality.
Cultivation stages after ascending to immortality: Unity, Void Return, Taiyi, Daluo, Quasi-Sage, Sage, Quasi-Emperor, Emperor, and Dao.
Not bad, good book
