I Woke Up as a Beautiful Girl and Clung to My Best Bro

One day, after working overtime until the early hours, office worker Lin Yu wakes up to find that he has become a long-haired beauty with fair skin.

With nowhere else to turn, the only person he can trust is his college best friend, Lu Chen.

Lin Yu manages to “impose” on his former buddy.

And so, two grown men begin a chaotic life under the same roof.

From panicking over buying sanitary pads during his first period, to being forced to wear strawberry-print pajamas, posing as a “cousin” when friends drop by unexpectedly, and becoming a virtual streamer to make ends meet, only to go viral because of the contrast between his straight-guy soul and his cute-girl looks…

When a wealthy fan named Mumu pursues him relentlessly, Lu Chen finally realizes that his feelings for his “buddy” have long since changed.

With alcohol loosening their tongues, the two finally admit what’s between them.

From friends to lovers, from awkwardness to honesty, they face online abuse, pressure from big business, and their parents’ suspicions and anguish together.

When Lin Yu finally works up the courage to tell his parents, “I’m your son,” his mother hugs her and cries, “No matter what you look like, you’re still my child.”

From office drudge to streamer, from buddies to spouses, from a rented apartment to a home of their own.

This is a story about transformation, comedy, warmth, and growing up.

“Legally, your name is Lin Yu, but in my heart, you’ll always be the buddy who slept in the bunk above mine. So, buddy, will you marry me?”
