The story takes place at the end of the fictional 'Da Ming Period' - a coastal era where spiritual energy is exhausted, ancient cultivation is cut off, and mortals use the sea as their farmland but fear the deep blue. Young Shen Lang is an orphan from a fishing village in the East China Sea. He finds an ancient nautilus that seals the mirage. After blowing it, he awakens the 'Mirage True Eye', which can weave illusions that confuse the real with the real and interfere with reality. He used this to monopolize shipping and control trade routes, becoming a 'phantom wealthy businessman' in charge of the seventy-two islands. However, as his power rose, he gradually discovered that the whispers of the mirage contained the remnants of his father's consciousness; all mirages were not illusions, but living cages built by his father in the endless sea with his soul as the anchor and flesh and blood as the boundary - imprisoning the ancient disaster 'Ming Yuan Eclipse' and also imprisoning himself. The main plot revolves around Shen Lang cracking the truth behind the cage, facing the fate of his bloodline, and choosing between illusion and truth, son and father, salvation and destruction.
