Programmer Xu Cheng works himself to death, only to awaken in the body of a fellow overworked drone with the same name in a parallel world. He’s also bound to a mysterious “lie flat to get stronger” System. As long as he keeps up his laid-back persona, he can earn all kinds of outrageous rewards. But before he can enjoy more than a few days of slacking off, he accidentally witnesses a secret deal by the underground syndicate Dark River and gets caught up in their pursuit. Faced with deadly threats from the underworld, Xu Cheng has no choice but to take a bizarre path to survival under the System’s “coercion.” He assumes a false identity and infiltrates a bar, using the abilities granted by the System to set his plans in motion amid tipsy neon lights and easy conversation, carefully advancing one step at a time under the guise of a laid-back daily life. To everyone else, he’s the cold, decisive, unfailingly calculating “lone wolf.” In private, all he wants is to cuddle up to the cat who’s the only one who knows his secret. As Dark River’s shadow gradually spreads over the city and the “lazy fish” of the past is forced to bare his fangs, Xu Cheng realizes this game has long since stopped being about lying flat. Either sink into oblivion in silence, or tear off the disguise and become the true “Wolf King.”
