One day, Xiao Chengqian had a dream.

In it, his younger imperial uncle, who had gone seeking immortality in his youth, said he was about to ascend and asked him to take good care of the daughter he was leaving behind in the mortal world.

He rolled over and went back to sleep, assuming he’d dreamed it because he’d eaten too much.

But the next day…

“BOOM!!!”

A blazing meteor punched straight through the roof of the Golden Hall. When the smoke cleared, a little girl sat in the middle of the hall, gazing at him with curious wide eyes.

“Grandson! I’m your imperial grandaunt!”

The entire court: ???

The emperor: …

From then on, the palace had a new little terror.

She was tiny, but a true street-roaming rascal.

Her daily goal in life was to sneak out of the palace for food, fun, and games!

She’d roam up one street and down another, with a pack of princes and imperial grandchildren chasing after her.

“Imperial Grandaunt! You knocked over that vendor’s stall!”

“Those buns weren’t tasty. It deserved to be knocked over.”

“Imperial Grandaunt! You can’t hand gold to beggars!”

“Yaoyao has lots of money. I’m buying them candied hawthorns!”

The emperor had a headache every day. “Has my little terror slipped out again?”

The princes and imperial grandchildren answered with long faces: “Your Majesty/Grandfather, Imperial Grandaunt/Great-Aunt said osmanthus cakes just went on sale in the south of the city. No one’s allowed to stop her today.”

The emperor: “...Chase her! You’d better bring her back!”

Everyone rushed out of the palace, only to find the little terror sitting astride the commander of the imperial guards’ neck, holding up a candied hawthorn skewer and patrolling the streets like a conquering general.

The commander of the imperial guards wore an utterly defeated expression. “This humble general… This humble general couldn’t stop her either.”
