The Plump Girl's Comeback: The Noble Consort Says I'm Born for Wealth

Tang Man thought her life was a joke.

After dating for three years, her boyfriend Chen Yu dumped her with an Excel spreadsheet listing, item by item, why she was "not good enough": her skin wasn't fair enough, her waist wasn't slim enough, her outfits weren't stylish enough, and her personality wasn't gentle enough... Each item came with a score deduction.

She didn't even have the strength to cry out loud.

Then, one night, she saw a reflection in the full-length mirror of her rented apartment that didn't belong to her.

With cloudlike hair and a face like a flower, jewels sparkling in her hair, a woman gracefully stepped out of the mirror and spoke in a voice from thirteen hundred years ago: "Little girl, with a lovely face like yours, how did you let people bully you like this?"

She was Yang Yuhuan, the noble consort of the Tang Dynasty, one of the most beautiful women in history.

But Tang Man soon discovered that this imperial consort was a walking disaster in modern society. She called milk tea "fermented milk," mistook delivery riders for "couriers," thought everyone dressed in "coarse hemp clothes," and could never understand one thing: "Why do all the beauties here think they're ugly?"

And so began life under the same roof for the two women.

One had awakened a thousand years later and stubbornly measured the world by Tang Dynasty standards. The other had sunk into anxiety and long since forgotten who she used to be. Together, they went shopping, ate hot pot, took down scumbags, and built their careers, slowly piecing together a different answer to the question of beauty amid their chaotic everyday lives.

But this isn't just a story about two women.

When Tang Man starts sharing her transformation online, and more and more girls crushed by "standards" find their way to her, a war over "who gets to define beauty" quietly begins...
