It tells the story of the daily drama between 42-year-old single mother Kui Kui and her 15-year-old rebellious son Quan Ge, who is in the third grade of junior high school.
Kui Kui runs the family by herself, is hard-spoken and soft-hearted, and loves to worry. Quan Ge is in his adolescence and talks about "you don't understand" and "are you bothered", but in his heart he really cares about his mother. Starting from the collapse of being unable to wake up when I lifted the quilt on the first day of school, there were battles for mobile phones, social pressure from the parent group, being called parents, discovering that my son was writing a novel, and a sudden call from my ex-husband... There were quarrels over small things and big things, and it didn't take long for the warmth to fall out again.
The conflict escalated all the way - brother Quan was isolated by his classmates, mixed up with young people in the society, mother and son wrote cold letters to reconcile and were repeatedly pulled. Finally, late one night, Brother Quan ran away from home, and Kui Kui found him all over the city, and then he truly heard the pressure in his son's heart. Brother Quan took a break from school to learn painting and slowly found himself again. Kui Kui also learned to let go and stop staring at everything. The mother and son carried it through the resumption of school, the unified art exam, and the sprint for the high school entrance exam.
The ending is not perfect but warm: Brother Quan was admitted to high school, fell in love, and said he wanted to be an art teacher. Kui Kui also became enlightened. Life is still a whirlwind, but both mothers have learned that noisy quarrels will keep the family together.
