Lu Chenyuan, once codenamed “Yama,” was an elite international operative and combat medic. After a bloody mission three years ago cost his comrade Su Beichen his life, Lu was physically and emotionally exhausted. He chose to disappear into a corner of the city and become an ordinary clinic doctor, using his medical skills to atone for his sins and hoping for a quiet life. Then a bloodstained contract from the past was placed before him by a pale, determined woman: Su Beichen's younger sister, Su Wanqing.
Su Wanqing had once been a talented graduate of a prestigious university, but for love she had become a full-time homemaker. After seven years of sacrifice, her husband, Chen Yuxuan, and Lin Weiwei, the heiress of a wealthy family, betrayed her together. She caught them in bed, discovered they had transferred her assets, learned of an illegitimate child, and was falsely accused of being mentally ill. In a single night, she lost everything and nearly lost custody of her child as well. Amid the ruins of her life, her unbearable anguish unexpectedly “awakened” hidden talents: a photographic memory and meticulous analytical skills. She recalled her late brother's vague mention of “Doctor Lu” and a promise.
Su Wanqing's arrival tore open the past Lu Chenyuan had tried to bury. His guilt over his comrade and the promise he had made left him unable to refuse. The two formed an alliance for revenge: she provided information and targets, while he offered protection and the strength to turn the tables. With silver needles in his left hand, Lu saved lives; with iron fists in his right, he punished the wicked. He helped Su Wanqing gather evidence and learn about business and the law, so she could reclaim her assets one step at a time. They also crossed paths with Gu Yanche, an elite lawyer who seemed carefree but had powerful connections. He initially took the case for the sake of his family's interests, but Su Wanqing's resilience and Lu Chenyuan's mysterious nature drew him in, and he willingly became entangled in this dangerous game
