Don’t Run, Madam! The Marquis Is Coming After You

Transmigrated into the body of a Marquis’s household’s bride, brought in to bring good fortune, Tang Ning is nearly strangled by her mad Marquis on their wedding night.

The original owner was scared to death.

Tang Ning wants to live, so she has to run.

But the man ties a golden bell around her ankle and, with his guards watching, says with a low laugh, “Every time my wife runs, I’ll kill one person.”

She thinks it’s a threat.

Only later does she realize: it’s his limit.

When he’s clearheaded, he wants to let her go. When the poison takes hold, he won’t let go even if he dies.

He keeps a portrait of her hidden in a secret compartment in his study, where it’s been tucked away since he was a boy.

The day he defies an imperial order to send her away, he says, “Haven’t you always wanted to run? Go on. This time, I won’t chase you.”

She runs.

Halfway there, she hears he’s alone on the battlefield, so she turns back.

She finds him on the brink of death and feeds her blood to the madman.

When he wakes, he pulls her into his arms and kisses her in front of the entire army.

Only after the kiss does he say, “Either way, you’re not getting away now.”
