C-Rank Threads? Why Is the S-Rank Goddess Getting More and More Tangled Up?

[Urban High Martial Arts + Ability Evolution + One Heroine + Childhood Friends]

Zhou Yan awakens an utterly ordinary C-rank ability: [Threads].

With just three strands, he ranks twenty-seventh among the freshmen.

The good news is, he soon discovers his ability might not be so ordinary.

When he kills a Split-Whisker Bug, his threads keep dividing. When he kills a Blazing-Scale Beast, they burst into scorching heat. By the time the Giant Spirit Beast falls, his once-delicate threads can even transform into massive chains that sweep across the battlefield.

His [Threads] seem to be capable of endless evolution.

The bad news is that the one getting more and more entangled, right along with his threads, is Lin Qianning, the girl he grew up with.

S-rank [Brand], the top freshman, beautiful and powerful.

It was one thing when she clung to him as a child.

But why has she only grown more tightly entangled with him, just like his threads, since they started college?

And when the two of them finally leave campus and enter a world teeming with monsters and Awakened ones,

Zhou Yan discovers that C-rank was merely the original name of his threads.
