Back to 1986: Three Ex-Wives Show Up with Their Kids to Demand Repayment

The good news: Zhou Lichuan is reborn, with a “life-review intuition” that helps him avoid disaster and find good fortune.

The bad news: He’s drowning in debt, there isn’t even a grain of rice at home, and the whole village is waiting for him to starve to death.

Scene one: He goes to chop wood for food.

Bystander: “Well, well, the town drunk’s turned to hard labor? He won’t last half an hour!”

The result: Zhou Lichuan stacks two neat rows of firewood and trades them for food that saves his life.

Scene two: He goes treasure hunting on the riverbank.

Liu Mazi: “If he digs up anything valuable, I’ll eat shit standing on my head!”

The result: Zhou Lichuan digs up a wild ginseng worth a fortune.

Scene three: His three ex-wives come to see him.

Zhou Lichuan: “Give me three days, and I’ll give you all a future.”

Everyone: “What a load of crap!” they scoff.

Three days later, when Zhou Lichuan rolls into the village with a cart full of New Year’s goods, every dog in the village just stares in disbelief!
