We overslept.” Muichiro squinted sleepily and buried his face in his brother’s neck. “Just a little longer, big brother.” The two rushed out of the house, pedaled their bikes to school, and dashed into the gym with just two minutes to spare. At the opening ceremony, Himejima Gyomei spoke gently through his tears. “Welcome, new students.” Tanjiro stood up in the front row to answer. Zenitsu grumbled in protest, while Inosuke made a racket in class. Muichiro turned to Yuichiro, his eyes brimming with laughter. “Big brother, this class seems like it’ll be fun.” Yuichiro looked straight ahead, the corners of his mouth lifting slightly. “What’s fun about it? They’re all weirdos.” The twins oversleep on an April morning, launching their high school lives. In Class 1-3, packed with oddballs, the boys cross paths amid the bustle of everyday life and write a story of youth that belongs only to them.
