Journey to the West: Guanyin Monastery

Journey to the West: I transmigrated as the senior disciple of Guanyin Monastery.

On the day I received the seal of office, the monks dragged away a child.

On the child’s foot was a single carved character: “Wish.”

In the main hall, a wealthy man kowtowed in thanks because his son’s fever had broken.

That was when I understood the rules of this monastery:

The wealthy bought their lives with offerings of lamps, while the poor drank gruel in someone else’s place.

The dead were entered into the merit ledger, while the living still had to kneel and thank Buddha for his kindness.

Later, Guanyin descended to the mortal world, bestowed a travel document on me, and ordered me to journey west for the scriptures.

I had no right to refuse.

They called me an outsider beyond fate, an extraterrestrial demon who had intruded into Journey to the West.

But I knew this journey wasn’t about retrieving scriptures. It was about being drawn into the game.

I’m heading west not to seek scriptures from Spirit Mountain, but to demand justice on behalf of all living beings.

Whoever burns the people as firewood, I’ll shatter their golden body and tear down their temple.
