My name is Chen Mo, and I'm a corpse retriever.
Other people fish corpses out of the water. I fish the "filth" hiding among the living.
A construction boss hangs himself in an unfinished building, then his corpse suddenly speaks up to identify the killer;
A young punk dances on a grave and stuffs his great-grandfather's ashes into a phone case as a "luck charm" for gambling;
An evil talisman is hidden inside a breast implant, and the client is blown to pieces...
Don't ask me how bizarre these things are. I see them every day.
And don't ask if I'm afraid...
If a peachwood sword can't subdue it, I smash it with my fists;
If a yellow talisman won't stay in place, I hold the line with my life.
After all, this line of work has its rules:
If you take someone's money, you have to solve their troubles.
Even if the client is dead, even if it means competing with the King of Hell for business.
It wasn't until someone kidnapped my "nonexistent wife" to force me into the game that I realized...
The strange incidents scattered across the city had long been connected by a single thread.
And the end of that thread is clutched in the hands of something that wants to turn the human world into hell...
(P.S. A corpse retriever doesn't retrieve ordinary corpses. I deal with resentment, obsessions, and ghosts lurking beneath human skin.)
