A Song for the Burial of China

Period intrigue + national mystery + cultural shadow war + fated revenge + serious, emotionally intense drama

A terrifying secret is hidden in the rare, family heirloom copy of the Dream of the Red Chamber, annotated by Zhi Yanzhai: the Dream of the Red Chamber was never a romance novel!

Daiyu burying the fallen flowers was never about mourning spring. It was a symbolic tomb, raised three hundred years ago by Han Chinese in tears and blood for Emperor Chongzhen. The Flower-Farewell Festival on the Grain in Ear solar term, the twenty-sixth day of the fourth month, was a national memorial for the 800,000 compatriots killed during the Yangzhou Massacre. Even “Never lose it, never forget it” on the jade was no love token, but a last testament from ancestors who gave their lives for a fallen nation!

I'm just an ordinary scholar of the Dream of the Red Chamber, but after I decipher the code “flower = Hua,” mysterious forces came after me, and my family's rare copy nearly fell into their hands.

Only when I met Gu Yanchen did he tell me the truth: we are descendants of the survivors of the fallen dynasty, entrusted with uncovering the truth. The prosperous reigns of Kangxi and Qianlong were a deception, Western science was stolen, and China's ancient wisdom was distorted. Our ancestors stitched all their blood and tears into the words of the Dream of the Red Chamber!

As I stand at the ruins of the Grand View Garden and read “The Song of the Burial of Flowers” again, every rhyme drips with blood.

“Pure in coming, pure in going” was never Daiyu's lament. It is the backbone of a people who would rather die than submit!

[Political intrigue + mystery and codebreaking + revenge for the nation + two powerful allies] No filler: a satisfying moment every three chapters, a major twist every ten. After three hundred years, the family letters are finally understood, and China's cultural heritage will never perish.
