The Noble Ladies of the Capital Line Up for My Husband to Take Their Pulses

[Upright, self-restrained male physician × cold-faced female deputy minister|Sweet ancient romance, love growing over time, devoted couple, absurd comedy]

Shen Guanlan was born proper and courteous, yet somehow became a male physician specializing in difficult ailments afflicting women.

The capital’s noblewomen scolded him for flouting the rules of manly virtue to his face, but secretly lined up to have him take their pulses and treat their illnesses.

Pei Zhaoye, deputy minister of the Court of Judicial Review, was ordered to investigate his scandalous conduct.

Somewhere along the way, she ended up lying on his examination couch herself.

Pei Zhaoye clutched her lapels and said coldly, “Shen Guanlan, have you looked long enough?”

Shen Guanlan withdrew the hand resting on her wrist, his expression unruffled. “My lady, I’m examining your illness.”

…

Later, someone asked Pei Zhaoye, “Doesn’t it bother you that your husband has treated so many women?”

She rested a hand on the saber at her waist. “A physician’s heart is compassionate. He treats other people’s illnesses, not the people themselves.”

Shen Guanlan looked up at her. “And what about yours?”
