This is a long science fiction film that is difficult to easily classify. It cuts from a late night at the FAST Radio Astronomy Observatory - at 2:17 in the morning, the spectrum curve jumped a "breathing" signal. From here on, a puzzle that spans two civilizations for 12,000 years slowly unfolds. The novel uses a very clever clue: twin brothers He Rui and He Han, one uses intuition to "listen" to signals, and the other uses logic to "verify" signals. They simultaneously decoded the Lotus code in the Tianheng signal in the Lianxuan camp, and were therefore selected as the pilots and scientific officers of the China-1 UFO, flying to a celestial body called the Lianshu Star - a continent that split off from the Earth 12,000 years ago and evolved into an independent civilized world in deep space. After arriving, the novel does not write about the "reunion" sensationally - it presents a more complex fact: Lianshu Planet is not a unified civilization, but divided into three political entities: the Oasis Clan, the Sky Clan, and the Abyss Clan. The differences between the three ethnic groups are not ideological disputes, but rather the three ways of survival of "upward, middle, and downward" have grown into three completely different logics of civilization over the past 12,000 years. The Oasis tribe welcomes the earth, the Sky tribe defends the earth, and the Abyss tribe enshrines the core - there are undisclosed facts hidden behind each flag. However, what transcends all political games is something called the "core". It pulled He Rui's chest in the space-time tunnel, bypassed the reception system of the three tribes and directly sent a Chinese welcome letter, and enhanced the underground echo during the debate on the echo station. It's not a source of energy, and it's not a weapon - it seems to have choices of its own. The most precious thing about novels is not technical imagination, but always remembering that you are writing about people. The "translation philosophy" between the He family and his son - "Translation is not about replacing one sentence with another. Translation is understanding" - sets the tone for the entire work. The lotus badge sewn on by Han Shuang and Lian Zhu's tears when dripping lotus scented oil on the loess are the key to distinguishing this work from "another first contact story". The four-layer nesting of the lotus image is the most beautiful design in the book: from the geometric lotus seen in the inverted spectrum of the Tianheng signal, to the biological lotus that mutates and grows in the core radiation, to the genetic lotus spread to the earth from the pyramid seed bank, and finally to the philosophical lotus described by the lotus master La Mu - "It is always looking for a gap, and then grows out of that gap." Twelve thousand years ago, Lianzhou continent took a lotus seed with it when it flew away from the earth. The lotus seed grew into a lotus on the Lotus Star. Compared with other novels, this novel is good and will get better as time goes by. It's not the kind of mindless and cool novel, it has feelings about family and country as well as a sense of interstellar destiny. It's a niche treasure science fiction novel.
