Lovers Are Never Meant to Be Together

Childhood sweethearts grew up together, once vowing to share a lifetime across mountains and seas.

He was the heir to a powerful duke’s estate, while she was a royal princess of noble birth. Their families were well matched, and they pledged themselves to each other when they were young.

They thought fate had destined them for a happy marriage and a lifetime together.

But a sudden upheaval changed everything. Her princess consort raised an army in rebellion, and her mother, the princess, died a gruesome death within the palace walls.

Overnight, she fell into the depths, abandoned by the royal family and scorned by the world.

The words of their once-deep love still rang in her ears, yet the Duke’s household publicly broke off their engagement.

Their youthful love could not withstand the unpredictable turns of life. Their oaths of eternal devotion were shattered by the coldness of human nature.

She fell from the clouds into the mud, becoming the laughingstock of the whole city.

They were fated to meet, but not to stay together.

Their childhood bond came to nothing. In the end, two people in love could never be together, and all she had left was a heart full of wounds and a longing with no cure.
