In 1937, the Battle of Songhu broke out and Shanghai fell.
Twenty-two-year-old Jiang Huaidu was sent back to Shanghai by the organization with the task of breaking into the Japanese spy agency "Mei Agency". He has no background, no connections, and no golden fingers. The only thing he can rely on is his "inconspicuous" appearance.
After entering the Mei Agency, he became the "Jiang Sang" despised by everyone - nodding and bowing to the Japanese army, serving tea and water for the Japanese, and helping No. 76 Capture anti-Japanese elements. He switched between five identities: traitor, informant, and underground party, and each role was performed flawlessly.
But no one knows how many times he vomited in dark alleys and how many times he collapsed in the middle of the night.
What's even more cruel is that his brother is a military agent and is hunting down the "traitor" he played; his beloved wife has been arrested, and he must personally sign to confirm her imprisonment; his subordinates sacrifice one by one, and he must attend the celebration banquet with a smile.
During eight years of spy war, he protected the city, but lost himself.
When the cheers for the victory of the Anti-Japanese War resounded throughout Shanghai, Jiang Huaidu walked into a dark alley alone. He wanted to cry, but found that he couldn't.
