An Anonymous Love Letter at Seventeen

In the height of summer at seventeen, the wind held all the feelings left unspoken.

She folded her secret crush into anonymous love letters, afraid to sign her name, afraid to make a move.

A sidelong glance in the hallway, brushing past each other between classes, the evening breeze on the way home,

all were tender words written for that boy, but never brave enough to send.

Youth is fleeting, the love letters anonymous, but her heart was always sincere.
