Please Come to the Banquet

The world is in turmoil, divided among rival states, and strange things abound.

Chen Changqing walks the old roads with a blade and a volume of incomplete scriptures, slaying demons when he finds them and resolving hauntings when he encounters them. Some demons lurk in abandoned temples and ancient customs. Some ghosts are born of hunger, cold, and obsession. And some gods dwell in desires people refuse to acknowledge. The uncanny is not always far away, and the divine does not necessarily hover in the heavens. Many unspeakable things take root in the shadows where human hearts meet the affairs of the world.

Perhaps cultivation is not about withdrawing from worldly life, but about discerning flavors, seeing through falsehood, and holding on to a shred of clarity amid the murk. You are invited to the table. And those at the table may not be the only ones being served.
