Twenty-five-year-old Lin Hao had spent six years confined to a ten-square-meter rental room in an urban village. His girlfriend called him a “loser,” and poverty kept him bent beneath its weight. Desperate to turn his life around and silence the taunts that he would never make real money, he committed himself to a risky “high-paying” job overseas. He had no idea that this step would take him from a dead end into an even darker prison.
At the Mu Pai compound, he was hunted and cornered. At Bo Ge Mountain, landmines and sentry posts blocked his way. In the electric-scam hell of Ge Gong New City, even four layers of high walls could not imprison his determination to escape, and neither PVC batons nor stun batons could break the resentment in his heart. Lured in, beaten, and sold from one place to another, Lin Hao witnessed his fellow countrymen die horrific deaths. Only then did he understand that the promise of “earning over ten thousand a day” was nothing but bait to drag people into hell.
When his dignity was trampled, his life was given a price, and every escape route was sealed, the once-timid delivery rider shed all his naivety. He lay low in desperation and searched for a glimmer of hope in the dark. He would escape, take revenge, and tear down this “prison mountain” that devoured humanity.
“I once went mad for money, and fate once crushed me beneath its heel. But I’ll crawl back from hell and tear apart every insult and every trap.”
It's really good to read, the plot is exciting enough, and the subject matter is good. It's a book worth recommending.
