He is used to living alone, because every time he approaches others, his countdown may speed up. Until he was forced to join the official response organization code-named "Return to Zero", responsible for going deep into the most dangerous S-class abnormal space.
During a mission, he followed a ten-man team into a "hospital" rules scene. The beginning is hell - all medical methods are ineffective on the injured, and the only rule reminder is the bloody words at the entrance: "It is forbidden to die here." The number of heads in the line began to plummet from years to minutes, and panic spread.
In order to crack the rules, Gu Linyuan calmly used everyone's countdown as a clue to calculate the correct path of action. He saved most people by doing this, but this also made the manipulator behind the scenes notice him - a "rule observer" who shouldn't exist.
